How to get here / map Djúpavík is located in the Strandir district, in northwest Iceland, at the head the fjord Reykjarfjörður. It will take you between four and five hours to drive from Reykjavík or Akureyri. Follow Road 1 to Brú in Hrútafjörður, and then turn onto Road 61. Drive for about 100 km to Hólmavík, follow the same road for another 12 km until you come to a right turn signposted Road 643 Norðurfjörður. After another 60 km you will arrive in Djúpavík. And you cannot miss us: We are the first group of buildings you will see for over an hour! Please note that there are no petrol stations between Hólmavík and Norðurfjörður. Please fill your tank in Hólmavík. Alternatively, you can take an aeroplane from Reykjavík to Gjögur. Eagle Air flies twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and we will pick you up at the airfield. ![]() |
